I have served as a hiring manager, business leader, and recruiter, giving me valued insights to elevate our client's experiences and results. I’ve had the privilege of coaching some of the top 1% of C-suite and executive leaders from global brands, helping them lead through complexity with emotional intelligence and intention. I’ve also supported over 200 entrepreneurs in getting their businesses off the ground—guiding them through vision, identity, and execution. Over the last 36 months, I’ve served in interim and fractional leadership roles for more than eight startups, with a combined valuation of over $2 billion.

I bring over 20 years of experience in the United States Navy having served as a mechanic and diver on special operations submarines. This background showcases my technical expertise and leadership skills, managing complex operations and maintenance tasks under challenging conditions. My Navy career culminated in my role as Executive Director of Navy Recruiting, where I oversaw recruiting operations across multiple states and managed a large team of military and civilian personnel.

I have a deep love for fashion and serve as an Image Consultant and Stylist, as well as a creative director for various brands. I am DeMichael Adkison, a Certified Life Coach with a passion for helping others discover and harness their full potential. Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, I have always been driven by an enthusiasm for personal development and community empowerment. Having navigated and overcome many challenges on my journey to finding my purpose, I live by the motto, "Keep it moving!"

I earned my associate degree from Collin College and am currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Psychology from The University of North Texas. I hold certifications as a Professional Life Coach and a Master Life Coach. With over 20 years of experience across the real estate, auto, retail, and professional coaching industries, my focus has been on operations, people development, client experience, and community development.

My professional journey has equipped me with extensive experience in building high-performing teams through effective training and learning and development initiatives, including work-life and performance coaching. I have earned a reputation for positively impacting individual and team performance.

In 2020, I launched One Hundred Life Coaching & Consulting focused on personal growth and development. This endeavor allowed me to channel my love for empowering people into a dedicated coaching model. In partnership with Bee Defined Consulting, I helped build a holistic coaching approach that bridges the gap between professional aspirations and personal life factors, ensuring our clients receive comprehensive support. My coaching style emphasizes a personalized, empathetic, and strategic approach, aiming to empower individuals to achieve their full potential both professionally and personally.

In addition to serving as a Personal Performance & Life Coach here at Bee Defined Consulting, I also spearhead our marketing, media, and client service delivery initiatives. Additionally, I serve as the Co-Founder of Bee One Growth & Development and Bee One Empowerment, focusing on empowering individuals to bee one with their professional and personal lives.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, indulging in karaoke, and exploring new restaurants and food dives. I cherish moments with my fiancée and children and am also an artist who loves writing poetry. My work was published in the early 2000s and even featured in a Coca-Cola Olympics commercial in the '90s! I am a lover of life and all the possibilities it has to offer.

Executive Resume & LinkedIn Writer
Learning & Development Lead

It is truly my passion to support job seekers by helping them build and present their personal and professional brand through their resume and LinkedIn profiles. I leverage nearly three decades of experience supporting job seekers as a resume writer, paired with a background in marketing, staffing, and college admissions recruiting, to provide job seekers with comprehensive support. After helping tens of thousands of clients, I have knowledge of myriad industries and professions, so I know which questions to ask to get to the heart of the matter. I then craft clients’ experience, skills, and accomplishments into resumes that glide through ATS and engage recruiters and hiring managers to schedule interviews.
I consider myself to be a lifelong learner, so I stay active in various professional organizations catering to resume writers and career coaches. I currently serve as the president of the Resume Writers and Coaches Association and director of communications for the National Resume Writers Association. I am also an active member of Career Directors International. To stay at the top of my game, I attend trainings and workshops on the latest best practices in resume writing and LinkedIn optimization, ensuring that I can appropriately guide clients to find success using sound strategies and approaches. I am a renowned presenter and speaker in my own right, having conducted presentations for various organizations and been a guest on several podcasts, as well as television and radio programs.
When not working, I am extremely active. I exercise daily at the gym, on the trail, and in my neighborhood. I also maintain a keto diet, so I cook and bake regularly. My office is full of my other loves: large collections of Wonder Woman and The Little Mermaid. Having grown up an Army brat and lived across the US, as well as in Germany, I find that I typically have at least one thing in common with clients, helping us to easily build rapport.

With a dynamic background in executive support, counseling, and research, I bring a unique blend of strategic administrative, program delivery expertise, and people-centered service to every role I take on. I hold a Master of Arts in Rehabilitation Counseling from The George Washington University and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Texas Christian University, graduating Summa Cum Laude.

Having spent several years in mental health counseling and career development, I value the opportunity to leverage this knowledge to help individuals navigate personal and professional challenges. I have always been fueled by a deep commitment to empowering others to achieve their goals. As an Executive Assistant with 13 years of experience, I’ve had the privilege of supporting C-suite executives across a wide range of industries, including hospitality, construction manufacturing, technology, private equity, clinical research, and commercial real estate. This diverse background has shaped my ability to navigate fast-paced, evolving environments with ease, while building a versatile skill set that allows me to anticipate needs and deliver exceptional support.

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Management, which has been instrumental in helping me excel in providing high-level executive support. As a rising high school senior with a strong interest in business and consulting, I’ve sought out opportunities that allow me to think strategically, work collaboratively, and create meaningful impact. From building a sales forecasting model using machine learning at UT Dallas to researching cognitive biases in investment decisions with guidance from a JP Morgan mentor, I’ve immersed myself in the analytical and creative sides of business.

I’ve also gained hands-on experience through marketing and nonprofit work like developing campaigns, organizing fundraising events, and contributing to organizations like Vickery Meadow Youth Development Foundation and Leukemia Together. These roles have strengthened my skills in communication, leadership, and execution, while reinforcing the value of service-driven work.
